Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 6, 2026

Daily Facts ("we", "us", "our") publishes a free fact of the day at todaysdailyfact.com. This policy explains what little information the site interacts with, since there are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no forms that collect personal data.

Information we collect

We do not require or request any personal information to use Daily Facts. There is no account system, no email capture, and no comments section. The only piece of data the site stores is your light/dark theme preference, saved locally in your browser's localStorage under the key daily-facts:theme. This value never leaves your device and is not sent to us.

Cookies and tracking

Daily Facts does not set tracking cookies and does not run third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or fingerprinting scripts. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.

Server logs

Like virtually any website, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information for security and reliability purposes — things like IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. We don't access these logs to identify individual visitors, and we don't combine them with any other data.

Third-party links

Every fact links to an external source (an encyclopedia entry, a news article, a primary record, and similar) so you can verify it yourself. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control — we'd encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.

Children's privacy

Daily Facts publishes content suitable for a general audience, including facts for kids, but the site itself does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because there's no sign-up or data entry anywhere on the site, none is collected in practice.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, we'll update this page and revise the effective date above. We'd rather this policy stay boring and short than grow to cover things we don't actually do.
